BesenArts Special Tour Project: Viva Tango!, featuring Cho-Liang Lin and David Shifrin

July 4, 2019

David Shifrin was not done with me when he brought up the topic of my representing the Polonsky-Shirfin-Wiley Trio. A couple of days later he broached the topic of Viva Tango!, a special concert featuring music of Lalo Schifrin and Astor Piazzolla, performed by this amazing ensemble:

Cho-Liang Lin, violin
David Shifrin, clarinet
Hector Del Curto, bandoneon
Alex Brown, piano
Pablo Aslan, double bass
Satoshi Takeishi, percussion

The tour period is March 13-21, 2021, though we will consider some runout dates, as available by inquiry.

Please have a look at the official announcement.

BesenArts Signs the Argus Quartet

July 4, 2019

I first heard the Argus Quartet at the Chamber Music America conference in January 2018, and to put it simply, I was wowed. I have gotten to know them and their work in depth over the past year and a half, and was very pleased they joined my list this past month, coming to me from my old friends at Concert Artists Guild. As many of you know, there has been some recent change in the Argus, with violinist Clara Kim and cellist Joann Whang welcoming new violinist Giancarlo Latta and violist Maren Rothfritz, also announced last month. I heard the new formation perform in May, and can tell you that you will like what you hear!

You can learn more by visiting their website, and their section of my website.

Here's the official announcement.

BesenArts Signs Polonsky-Shifrin-Wiley Trio

July 4, 2019

I announced the signing of the Polonsky-Shifrin-Wiley Trio in early June.

Earlier in the spring I got a phone call from David Shifrin that opened this conversation. As many of you know, I refer to myself as a "recovering clarinetist," and I have idolized Mr. Shifrin's artistry since I was a teenager. It's been wonderful to get to know him over the years, and to have this opportunity to work for him is most exciting to me, to say the least.

And of course no less so with the amazing Peter Wiley, who needs no introduction to anyone likely to be reading these words.

I've gotten to know Anna Polonsky in recent years when she collaborated with artists I represent. It was no surprise to me that Mr. Shifrin and Mr. Wiley would be drawn to her fine work.

I'll be particularly concentrating on tour periods from October 2-11, 2020 and January 22-31, 2021, but will also gladly field inquiries about other dates of interest.

Here's the official announcement.

BesenArts Signs the Formosa Quartet

July 4, 2019

I announced the signing of the Formosa Quartet on January 8, 2019. Please visit their website, and their section on my website.

Here's a link to the official announcement.

I particularly recommend a visit to the Formosa Quartet YouTube page, where you will find a very rich range of their performances, spanning Beethoven to Shostakovich, and selections from their new recording, "From Hungary to Taiwan," and their superlative arrangements of Stefan Grappelli.
